Tra Vinh Overview

Tra Vinh Province is in the Mekong Delta, bordering the provinces of Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Soc Trang and the East Sea. It has 2,292 square kilometers with a population of about 1.1 million people, including a provincial city and seven districts.
Topography includes coastal plain, alluvial deposits, hundreds of mounds and sand caves, a complex network of rivers and canals.
Tra Vinh province is on tropical monsoon region. The weather is hot whole year. The dry season is from December to April. The rainy season is from May to November. Annual average temperature is 26ºC.
Tra Vinh's economy base on agriculture, aquaculture, fish and shrimp breeding. Tra Vinh province is covered by verdant plants in garden village along bank of river.
Ba Om Pond is an attractive place of Tra Vinh. It has a lot of hillocks and old sao and dau trees with odd shape of roots. In the afternoon, birds on the trees make this area exciting and noisy.
There are about 140 pagodas of Khmer, 50 pagodas of Viet and 5 pagodas of Hoa. The famous ones include Ang, Sam-rong-ek, Co, Hang. Co Pagoda has thousands of birds including storks, cong coc and pigeons.
