Son La Overview
Son La is a mountainous province, locate in Northwestern region of Vietnam. It shares borders with Lao Cai and Yen Bai Province in the north, Phu Tho Province and Hoa Binh Province in the east, Dien Bien Province and Lai Chau Province in the west, and Thanh Hoa Province in the south. Besides that, Son La also shares 250km border with Laos. It is far about 320 km from the northwest of Hanoi capital.
Son La is a beautiful land of not only spectacular mountains but also pristine cultural values representing for ethnic minority groups in the Northwest Vietnam. Being known as a gather of 12 ethnic communities, Son La culture is the mixed of different culture.
Son La tourism has gifted conditions to develop because this area is well endowed with diverse fauna and flora. Son La has wild and pure beauty of dense forest, majestic mountains, gentle streams, and spectacular natural sceneries. In spring, Ban flowers burst into bloom and make Northwest forest become beautiful in white colors. Some spectacular sceneries in Son La are Tea field in Moc Chau, Thac Dai Yem (Dai Yem Waterfall), Hang Doi (Bat Cave), Hang Trau (Buffalo Cave), Hang Bia Que Lam Ngu Che, etc.
