Halong Bay Overview
Halong Bay is a beautiful World Natural Wonder in northern Vietnam, belong to Quang Ninh province and Tonkin of Gulf. The Bay is dotted with 1,600 jagged limestone pinnacles and covers an area of over 1,500 km2. This extraordinary area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. For many tourists, this heritage is like something right out of a fiction movie. The fact is that Halong Bay features of biodiversity, and the surrealistic scenery has indeed featured in famous movies.
The best way to get to Halong Bay is by private car, minibus or bus from Hanoi which is only 170km away and it take 2 hours drive via highway route. If budget is not a problem, an hour-long helicopter transfer is also available.
